History
Arroyo Fairways is located in the beautiful desert city of Hemet, CA in Riverside
County. It has been named Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation for the past 23 years. Hemet is closely located to the San Jacinto Mountains and is known primarily as a retirement community but it is also becoming home to significant numbers of younger families who provide services to the senior population or who are simply fleeing the more urbanized areas of Southern California. The economy is based primarily on service to the senior community and ancillary services such as financial institutions and the health care professions. And with its, easy access to San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange County, the abundant work force and recreational opportunities make the area
appealing.
Because of the unique location of Hemet you are only a short drive to any of your
entertainment choices including beaches, mountains, desert, shopping malls,
theaters and sports activities.
Favorite pastimes range from fishing and boating, bicycling and horseback riding,
hiking to lawn bowling and hot air ballooning.

Lakes
Diamond Valley Lake is a lifeline for Southern California in times of drought. The lake holds enough water to meet the area’s emergency and drought needs for six months. This lake offers many recreational opportunities such as fishing, boating, the Southwestern Riverside County Multi-Species Reserve and nearby you will find the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve containing some of Southern California’s last vernal pools that support fairy shrimp, wintering waterfowl and spring wildflowers.

Ramona Hillside Players – Local theatre company offering many types of plays
for all ages.
Ramona Bowl Amphitheatre– Located on 160 acres in the south hills of Hemet,
CA. The amphitheater with its acoustical attributes and beautiful mountain views
hosts “Ramona” the oldest continuing outdoor drama in the United States and the Official Outdoor Play of the State of California.
Regal Cinemas Hemet – Offering you 12 theatres to choose from allowing you to
stay up to date with the newest releases.
Casino
Located less than 15 minutes from Arroyo Fairways, Soboba Casino is nestled
in the foothills of the San Jacinto Mountains is your one-stop headquarters for
gaming and entertainment. Soboba features 2,000 slot machines, over 20 table
games, two restaurants, a large sports lounge and a 12,000 seat entertainment
pavilion.
Museums
Western Science Center – During the construction of Diamond Valley Lake
a fascinating collection of archaeological artifacts and Ice Age Fossils were
discovered. A state of the art museum was built to house these incredible finds.
Historic Santa Fe Depot – Located at State Street and Florida Avenue, the freight house portion of the depot is where the museum is located and was built in 1898. This is one of the oldest structures in Hemet.
Estudillo Heritage Park and San Jacinto Museum – One of the most historically
significant structures in Riverside County. The San Jacinto Museum has
relocated the Estudillo Family Home to the Estudillo Heritage Park and it includes historic treasures from one of California’s oldest cities, Indian artifacts from our local tribes and other historic memorabilia.
